imagining an island: praxis

‘Praxis’, is a reflection on Islands occupying two spaces, the natural and the social.  It is the way in which the representation of Island identity becomes people’s embodied experience of ‘Island’.   The emergence of the solid form, from the ethereal form, mirrors the experience of island-ness, developing through socialisation and experience, and becoming the performed identity of an Island. The imagined space of the Island becomes the lived reality
